and Water University of Technology (PWUT)
is the largest center for specialized technical training in Electrical
and Water industries in I.R. of Iran.
PWUT with more than 40 years of experiences and very
modern technical and training facilities is offering short courses and
degree programs to the personnel of affiliated companies to the Ministry
of Energy of Iran. The short courses are offered to the experts of the
industries to keep them up to date in their jobs.
The short courses are
given in Technician and Engineering levels in English and/or Arabic
(upon request) in PWUT or in other regional countries. The content of
the courses are considered in such a way to cover technical information
and experiences which are required as the real qualification for
industrial jobs.

The

The degree programs in
PWUT
are also offered in , B.Sc. and M.Sc. and Ph.D levels in Farsi or

Sport facilities, dormitories, residences, restaurant, medical center
and … are among the other facilities that are existing in
PWUT.
PWUT is composed of tree Faculty and 11 departments including Dept. of
Control & Computer Eng. , Dept. of Transmission & Distribution Eng. ,
Dept of Generation Eng Dept. of Economy, Dept of Management Dept. of
Accounting ,Dept. of Seminary, Dept.
of Water Resource Eng. ,Dept. of Hydraulic Installation Eng., Dept. of
Water & Wastewater Eng., Dept. of Environment Eng.
More than130 academic staff a long with more than 110 labs
and workshops have made
PWUT
a unique center that provides an environment to promote a high level of
professional and performance for trainees from various backgrounds from
different Regional Electric Companies, Power Plants, Water Companies and
Water and Waste Water companies.

PWUT history |
|
PWUT provides an
environment to promote a high level of professional training for
trainees from various backgrounds from different companies affiliated
to the Ministry of Energy. - Founded in 1970 in Tehran for offering
short courses and was named as the Center for Special Training.
- Started B.Sc. degree programs
(specially for the MOE personnel) in 1982 and was renamed as Sh.
Abbaspour Training and Research Center.
- Started B. Sc. Programs under
supervision of Ministry of Science, Research and Tech. in 1990 and was
renamed as PWUT.
- Started Water and Waste Water
Engineering M.Sc. (joint) program with IHE (The Netherlands) in 1992.
- Started 10 more M.Sc. programs in
1994.
-Increased the number of joint short
course programs with foreign companies (like TOTAL, ELF, Shell,AGIP ,
World Band Project…) and international organizations (like FAO) from
2000.
- Started Ph.D. (joint) program with
French universities in 2001.
The
main campus of
PWUT is in Tehran in and area
about 600,000 sqm.

Staff:
PWUT employs a total of 135 academic
staff members. In addition,
PWUT
has at its disposal a pool of more than 600 visiting lecturers from
governmental agencies, partner universities, research institutes, and
private consulting companies
.Administration:
Although,
PWUT
is affiliated to the Ministry of Energy (MOE), but functions
autonomously under directions of a board of trustees which is comprised
of high-ranking representatives of independent university professors and
various industrial national organizations

Research and Consultancy Services
PWUT is active in
research and providing technical consulting services. For these
purposes, more than 50 specialized units and 5 research centers have
been established PWUT which
carry out research, develop technical manuals and provide different type
of consultancy services for various companies in the power, water and
oil industry. The research centers are:

This laboratory has capacity of
presenting visual and auditoria training to 32 trainees simultaneously :
3- Library and Technical Documents
Center:
Library area is about 1000 square
meter and has 2 journal & magazines saloons and studying rooms. The
central library contains 73000 books.
4- AMPHITHEATRES CENTER:
It contains 3 equipped saloons that
have standard audio and video equipments (500 seats).
5- Visual & Auditoria Facilities
It has an equipped studio for
supplying and copying the training documentary movies. It includes more
than 600 scientific movies.
6- SPORT
Sport facilities includes football
grass field, basketball gymnasium, swimming pool and…
7- ACCOMMODATION
Dormitories for degree programs and
residences for short course trainees

In publication center there are
